Tennis NSW Presentation & KPMG Report - Tuesday 27 May, 2008
Last year, the Tennis NSW Board of Directors commissioned a report on the structure of tennis in NSW by KPMG. This report has been received by the Board, and after discussion the Board has unanimously resolved to proceed with all the recommendations in the report. This is a momentous step for Tennis NSW because, with your support, there will be a platform to market and grow tennis in NSW in a unified way for all of the tennis community.

2008-09 Tennis NSW Player Registration

2008-09 Tennis NSW Player Registration
Tennis NSW are now accepting new registrations for the 2008/09 Player Registration Year. This means anyone registering from 1st May 2008 will get 14 months registration instead of 12 months. If you would like to become a registered player of Tennis NSW please download an application form. Please be aware registration cards will not be sent out until July so please let us know if you need your PlayerID for tournaments before then.

Talent Search moves to North West and North East

Are you aged between 6 and 11 years old and would like to be identified or scouted in Tennis?  If so, and you think you have what it takes to be the next Lleyton Hewitt or Alicia Molik, then Tennis NSW, in conjunction with Tennis Australia has a series of Talent Search days for you in 2008.  The program now moves to Tamworth in the North West on 23 May and then to Tweed Heads on 27 June, 2008. South East and Northumberland crowned 12/U Medibank Teams Champions
The champions at the 12/U Medibank Teams Championships have been crowned over the weekend in Bathurst. Northumberland (Nathan Doney, Matthew George, Jack Maddocks, Jordan McFadyen and manager Greg Brownlow) won the boys event, defeating the President's White Team in the final. In the girls event, South East (Ellen Perez, Rhiannon Marlin, Kirsty McRae, Clare Palise & manager Mark Pritchard) were champions after defeating the Metropolitan Waratahs in the final. Congratulations to all the players and managers involved in the event.

Position Vacant: National Academy (NA) Sydney - Contract Coach
The National Academy Sydney Contract Coach is responsible for helping to deliver the day-to-day training for athletes in the NA Sydney afternoon program, under the guidance of the NA Sydney National Coach. This includes approximatley 5 to 10 hours per week on-court on weekday afternoons (excluding Fridays).

New Focus for Medibank International
Medibank International Tournament Director Craig Watson has been appointed full time in the role. The move is part of a tournament structure revamp which involved Tennis Australia taking complete management of the event. “This is recognition of how important the Sydney event and the New South Wales market is to our sport,” Tennis Australia CEO Steve Wood said today.

HEAD - Offering clubs/coaches modified balls

Following the successful launch of Tennis Australia's Kids Starter Program - Aviva Tennis Hot Shots and the adoption of modified green tennis balls into the 10/u age groups at Medibank JDS Series events in NSW.  Tennis NSW and Official Tournament Ball Supplier, HEAD have teamed up to offer affiliated clubs and coaches in NSW access to the three levels of modified tennis balls (red, orange and green).
